Mailbox Keys, Wrenches and Cell Phones

Sometimes it seems as though Brandon is the never-ending topic of my blog.  I suppose it's the shock factor of his never-ending ideas.

Last summer, he went down with Allan in the truck to check the mail.  We have large mailboxes for over sized packages. If you have an over sized package, the mail-lady puts a key in your box.  You use the key to open the over sized mailbox, and the key stays in the lock until she uses a special key in another lock to remove it.  Did that make sense?

Anyhow, Allan go a call on his cell phone.  Next thing he knows, Brandon is using a wrench to turn the "locked" keys in the mailbox.  Alas, he broke a key off in the lock.  Another was mangled so badly, that when Allan attempted to straighten it out, it broke off as well.

My conscience insisted that I call the Post Office.  The Post Master was a bit incredulous.  "How old is your son?  He must be very strong."  He graciously waived the $50 charge for replacing the locks on the premise that it wouldn't happen again.  I don't think we'll have to worry about that.  It WILL be something different the next time.
